Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information KolBo collects when you use our websites, apps and embedded players, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the Service, keep it safe and make it useful to you.

You can review your data and download a copy at any time from Your data in KolBo, and change most privacy settings in Settings → Privacy.

Information you give us

• Account details — your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), birthday and, optionally, country and gender.
• Content — videos, thumbnails, captions, comments, posts, playlists, Moments and live chat messages you create.
• Payments — the plan or item you bought and your billing country. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
• Communications — messages you send us, such as feedback, support requests and reports.

Information we collect as you use the Service

• Activity — videos you watch and for how long, searches, likes, subscriptions and interactions with ads. You can pause or clear watch and search history, which removes it from your account pages; we keep the underlying viewing and search records for ads measurement and reporting.
• Device and connection — browser and operating system, device type, IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, language settings and crash reports.
• Cookies and local storage — to keep you signed in, remember preferences like theme and theater mode, protect against fraud, and store videos you download for offline viewing on your device.

• Provide the Service — play videos, process uploads, save your playlists and history, and deliver notifications you asked for.
• Personalize — recommend videos and show relevant search results based on your activity, unless you pause history.
• Keep people safe — detect spam, fraud and abuse, enforce our policies, and secure accounts (for example, alerting you to sign-ins from new devices).
• Measure and improve — understand how features are used so we can fix problems and build better ones.
• Ads — show ads to viewers who are not Premium members. If you turn off personalized ads, ads are based on the content you are watching and your general location only.
• Pay creators — calculate revenue shares from ads, memberships, fan funding and Premium.
• Communicate — send service messages, security alerts and, if you opt in, product updates.

• Publicly — your channel name, handle, picture, public videos, comments and public playlists are visible to everyone. Subscriptions and saved playlists are public unless you make them private.
• With creators — when you join a membership or send a Highlight or Tip, the creator sees your channel name and message. Creators see aggregated, non-identifying analytics about their audience.
• With service providers — companies that help us operate (video processing, payments, email delivery, cloud hosting) process information on our behalf under contracts that protect it.
• For legal reasons — when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the safety of people or the integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Pause or clear watch and search history.
• Keep your subscriptions and saved playlists private.
• Turn personalized ads off.
• Choose which notifications you receive, by email and in your browser.
• Download your data as a JSON file.
• Delete your account and everything in it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a data protection authority.

We keep information for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the Service. Content you delete is removed from the Service promptly and from our backups within a limited period. Some information, such as payment records, is kept longer where the law requires it.

We protect information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted two-factor secrets, access controls and continuous monitoring. You can help by using a unique password, turning on 2-Step Verification and reviewing where you are signed in.

KolBo is not intended for children under 13. Videos marked as made for kids have personalized features — like comments, notifications and personalized ads — turned off for everyone who watches them.
