Payment declined or a charge you don’t recognize
Why payments fail, how to update your card, and what to do about unfamiliar charges.

Payments usually fail because a card has expired, the billing address doesn’t match, there isn’t enough balance, or the bank flagged the purchase. Try the following:
- Open Purchases and memberships and select Update payment method to check your card details.
- Contact your bank to approve the payment, then try again.
- Try a different card.
If a renewal payment fails, your membership stays active for a short grace period while we retry. We email you before benefits end.
A charge you don’t recognize
Look at the Payment history in Purchases and memberships — it lists every charge with its date and what it was for. Someone in your household may have made a purchase. If you still don’t recognize it, contact us and change your password.
